I didn’t start out writing about product reviews for parents – I kept my blog very kid-focused at the start – but soon after having baby Brie I realized just how important it was for parents to pamper themselves. What a concept, I know! If I’m not feeling refreshed and awake, it makes this whole parenting thing so much harder. Parenting is a hard enough job without adding exhaustion to the mix. We have work, taking care of our kids, and with no help near us, Bob and I are left to navigate the waters of school schedules, homework, self proclaimed nutritionist, care taker, and all around protector between the two of us for our two girls. Days can run together and nights (especially when a child is sick) can leave little time to think about yourself. Coffee has become a very good friend to me, but Bob and I try to make time for ourselves and each other whenever we can. We look for high quality, natural items for our kids, but we can’t leave ourselves out! I have to brag a little about a company called Buck Naked Products, a company I first wondered about because I wasn’t so sure it was family-friendly from the name (ha!), but it’s actually one that makes all natural, vegan, hand-crafted bath products and I have to rave about their coffee line items which I now think may be a must during Bob’s and my crazy hectic weeks.

Our Thoughts: Bob and I really dig bath products that contain and smell like coffee. I think our brains are wired to smell coffee and automatically feel refreshed. Maybe it’s a parent reflex or something, but whatever it is, it works! While I enjoyed all the products, my favorite product is the Coffee Start Up Bath Bombs. Baths are a luxury and having a yummy bath bomb makes it all the more enjoyable. I also have dry skin and this bath balm contains ingredients that make my skin feel silky and moisturized. Bob loves the Coffee Start Up Lotion Bar. He likes using it on his face after he shaves as well as on his elbows which he claims are getting dryer as he gets older. Coffee is a beautiful thing and the Buck Naked Soap Company has harnessed its power to make it into magnificent bath products for parents. Java, java, java!!!!
About Buck Naked Soap Company: Buck Naked Soap Company opened its doors in March 2013 in Cambridge, ON (Canada) when the infant son of founders, Rina and John, developed skin irritations from traditional baby products. They soon realized that they needed a truly natural alternative. As necessity is the mother of all invention, the Chamomile & Calendula Soap was developed to help soothe the little guy’s skin, and a company was formed. Since its inception, they have successfully introduced nine product lines and over 40 products, including a fabulous line of natural soap, shampoo bars, deodorants, body scrubs, luscious lip butter and Bark Naked, a line for your pooch that is also free of chemicals. Buck Naked is committed to being chemical-free and vegan. On this, they are unwavering: if you can’t (or shouldn’t) eat it, they won’t use it.
