How many gondolas float down the canal?
Italy is one country that I really want to visit. It’s probably one of the top three places I want to go in my next series of international travels. I think it all started when my grandparents visited Vatican City and brought me back some holy water and rose rosaries that were blessed by the Pope. I was probably 12 or 13 at the time, and their stories and pictures actually made me feel like they were stepping back in time to a lovely and tranquil place that I, too, hoped to visit one day. Italy still remains on my bucket list, so I very much enjoy any time that I can spend learning more about the country and culture.
Misti Kenison in her Tiny Traveler series fourth book is all about Italy and focuses on counting numbers. Can you count the number of masks at Carnival? Yes! You and your toddler can answer this and many more questions in The Tiny Traveler Italy board book. You get to travel from Rome to Venice (how delightful!) and count your way through Italy’s most famous landmarks. I found the book as interesting as Brie and you get to start by counting one leaning tower (of Pisa!) to counting seven fresh pizzas just out of the oven. Yum! The board book series continues to expose young child to other countries and cultures while teaching the basic concept of counting and numbers. Sit back, explore, learn, and ENJOY.
The Tiny Traveler board books are fantastic because your child is able to travel to foreign places within the comfort of your own home. I imagine my children may catch the travel bug like I have through reading and exploring other cultures, and these board books are a path to a life interested in exotic and fantastic places. This is a wonderful series for young toddlers (geared towards ages 0 to 2 years) that teaches the basic concept of numbers and counting. Keep them coming, Misti!
