On the first day of kindergarten, there’s so much to do!
I was a little surprised when during my daughter’s first year of kindergarten that they sent information home with her about their ‘100 Days of School Celebration’. We never celebrated that when I was in school and it was the first time I ever heard about doing that. However, I thought it was a cool idea. Kids are learning to count to 100 and beyond, they are learning the months of the year, and they also can celebrate just how much they have accomplished during their first 100 days of school. VERY COOL!
When Brooke and I read On the First Day of Kindergarten, we both enjoyed counting the first 12 days of a young girl’s first experience of kindergarten. On her first day of kindergarten, the girl is so excited to ride the bus! The book carries on from there and each day a new exciting event is added to her list of fun things about school. From making new friends to jumping rope in gym to riding the bus to school, there are lots of exciting firsts to look forward to. This engaging new adaptation of “The Twelve Days of Christmas” convinces parents and children alike that there is no place cooler than a kindergarten classroom. This is perfect for new kinders and a great read for parents and kids!
