Recording Mundo Verde/Green World was the culmination of a love supreme. Mister G had the honor of collaborating with brilliantly talented musicians from Colombia, Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Peru, Argentina, Puerto Rico,Venezuela, and the USA. He traveled to Santo Domingo to record the song “Gozar” with 440, worked with Latin musicians in different parts of the U.S., and even included some remote sessions from Argentina, Holland, and England.

The names of musicians credited on Mundo Verde/Green World will be eminently familiar to many listeners. The album’s title track, a samba-inspired ode to the wonders of the natural world, conjures up a Brazilian Carnival street parade while showcasing Brazilian percussionist Mauro Refosco (David Byrne, Red Hot Chili Peppers), Brazilian-born vocalist Mari Nobre, and multi-Grammy winning Peruvian bassist Oscar Stagnaro (Paquito D’Rivera). “Agua” celebrates the significance of water to the planet’s ecosystems, with Oscar Stagnaro’s son Paulo Stagnaro (Ricky Martin, Angelique Kidjo) on percussion and Cuban-born Estrella Acosta on vocals.

Oscar and Paulo Stagnaro are again heard on “Sí Se Puede,” an anthemic rallying cry for the environment that gives Mister G and his electric guitar a chance to pay homage to Carlos Santana. Mister G teamed with Puerto Rican-born, Miami-based Grammy winner Marlow Rosado to write and produce “El Coqui,” a song using traditional Puerto Rican rhythms (bomba y plena), written from the perspective of the beloved native frog of the Puerto Rican rainforest. The album’s final track, “Las Estrellas,” inspired by the great Brazilian master Antonio Carlos Jobim, features Cuban/Mexican jazz legend Arturo O’Farrill (creator of the NYC-based Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra) on piano, with vocals by Estrella Acosta.

A true superstar in the children’s music world, with works spanning genres from bluegrass to bossa nova, funk to folk, Mister G’s dynamic, original music has won praise from The Boston Globe, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Sun-Times, People magazine, New York Post, Parents magazine, and more.

Mister G tours internationally, headlining such major venues as SummerStage in Central Park (New York City), Hard Rock Café (Philadelphia), Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts (Washington, DC), Austin City Limits, the Getty Museum (Los Angeles), Chicago Botanic Gardens, and JazzFest (New Orleans).
