Plant the Tiny Seed (Hardcover)

How do you make a garden grow?

Have you ever read the book ‘Mix It Up’ by Hervé Tullet?  It’s a fun interactive book where children believe (or pretend) they are mixing colors on the page by touching their fingers on the page.  Here’s a demonstration:

mix1Page 1:  The child closes the book to ‘mix’ the colors yellow and red!

mix2Page 2: Voila!  It turns ORANGE.  Wow!  Mind: Blown!

This was a huge favorite book for Brooke and now that she’s older, we found another companion book with the concept called ‘Plant the Tiny Seed’.  In this companion to the popular Tap the Magic Tree and Touch the Brightest Star, you will see how tiny seeds bloom into beautiful flowers. Your child will be tapping, clapping, waving, and more, and young readers can join in the action into making seeds grow into flowers! Christie Matheson masterfully combines the wonder of the natural world with the interactivity of reading.

Beautiful collage-and-watercolor art follows the seed through its entire life cycle, as it grows into a zinnia in a garden full of buzzing bees, curious hummingbirds, and colorful butterflies. Children engage with the book as they wiggle their fingers to water the seeds, clap to make the sun shine after a rain, and shoo away a hungry snail. Appropriate for even the youngest child, Plant the Tiny Seed is never the same book twice—no matter how many times you read it!  WE LOVE THIS BOOK!

Check it out!  Here are some awesome activities for the kids in your life here!
