My First 100 Words is actually a hard book for me to review. There isn’t a story line and a plot you can follow, it’s just a collection of words with different scenes with the names of each corresponding object. The thing is, I really, really like this book for many reasons, but I’m having trouble coming up with the words, so I will prattle on and do some free-flow writing! First, I love that there is a book that pulls together 100 essential first words for children and corrdinates that through cute cartoon pictures to connect the word with the picture. A sheep has the word “sheep” next to it, the word bananas has a ‘bunch of bananas” next to it. It’s great for small children to see, it’s great for ESL children, and it’s even great for beginning readers to use. There really isn’t much else to say except I do agree this is an ideal book for young children everywhere!
