Over in the Grasslands: On an African Savanna (Paperback)
The African grasslands teem with classic animals.
In the book, Over in the Grasslands, children (geared towards grades PreK-2) are introduced to ten baby animals that live on the African savanna. Children can pretend to “stalk” like lions, “squirt” like elephants, and “slurp” like giraffes! This is also a fun counting book where you can sing along to the words from the classic tune of “Over in the Meadow” (just like Marianne’s previous book Over in a River) while learning about the animals of the African grasslands. It wouldn’t be a Dawn Publications books without the additional educational material and the book has additional learning pages at the end. I’m including a link below to free downloadable activities based on the book including an animal matching and memory game. The pages also include the Standard Alignments for the Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core ELA. This is an excellent resource for students, teachers, parents, and homeschoolers!
Educators: Download free activities based on this book.
