Samanthasaurus Rex is a funny and empowering picture book featuring a fresh new character: a girl dinosaur who marches to the beat of her own drum.
Samanthasaurus Rex is not your typical T. rex.
She’d rather paint animals than chase them.
She prefers sorting bones to gnawing on them.
Bite and fight?
Nope. Sam uses her words.
Samanthasaurus Rex isn’t like her family and they are worried that she will never grow up to be a strong and fearsome leader like a true T. rex. However, when disaster strikes, it’s up to Samanthasaurus to save the day – and her family. Is she up to the task?
While the book doesn’t come out and SAY it, Samanthasaurus Rex is a leader because;
- You can be strong without having to always prove your strength.
- You can be a leader without being fearsome.
- You can be LOUD without even yelling.
Every child – every person – is unique and we love Samanthasaurus because she may seem offbeat and not strong like her family thinks she should be, but in reality she’s all that and more. She is evolved and up to any task that comes her way because she is able to act when it is warranted and not REACT because the situation is bad or scary. If you are looking for a funny book that is reassuring to a child in your life that marches to the beat of their own drum, Samanthasaurus does an excellent job while also throwing in great life learning lessons that being a great leader doesn’t mean you have to act like a ‘normal’ T. Rex. Love it.
