I have always been puzzled by companies that make toddler sneakers with tie shoelaces. Toddlers struggle with learning fine motor skills and toddler sneakers, while adorable, usually means that parents get the ever-present task of re-lacing shoes, over and over again. A young couple from Anaheim, California (Jason and Sarah Flores) have a daughter on the Autism spectrum that also struggles with fine motor skills, so they decided to create a product that would make life easier for kids, parents and anyone else who would like to be able glide-on their favorite sneakers and just walk out the door. Sounds great, right? Well, Laceez are not only practical no-tie shoelaces, they look cool, too.
Laceez are currently available for kids ages 3 to 12, and come in a wide range of awesome, festive colors and make excellent stocking stuffers. And, sure, it’s important to learn to tie your shoes, but once you learn the skill, why wouldn’t you want easy no-lace shoes? There is a reason I prefer slip-on shoes myself! I like to get ready fast and have two small children that still need some assistance in preparing for their day. I’m not alone! In fact, due to a large number of requests, the next phase for Laceez is an adult line! The plan is for Laceez to launch Laceez for Adults in early 2016 and currently has a Kickstarter crowd funding to help them attain these goals and grow their already rapidly growing business.
Laceez are simply a laced up a child’s shoe and their stretchy laces and plastic ends keep them in place and easily give kid’s sneakers a makeover while still having the look of a traditional lace up shoe. In fact, we think the laces give the shoes an even nicer look that is both comfortable and stylish. Parents, no more knots and dangling laces to struggle with as you can convert any laced shoes into a pair of slip-ons! Awesome.
