Harmoniously hydrating blend works to minimize the appearance of photodamage.

The funny thing about natural and healthy beauty products is the company’s making them are not always making responsible choices to reduce their carbon imprint in areas like production and packaging.  Not so with Portland’s Mad Hippie Skin Care.  Mad Hippie’s products are made in BPA-free, fully recyclable airless pumps with labels printed solely with soy ink.  On top of that, their entire Portland, Maine facility runs off alternative energy and $1 of every web sale purchase is donated to conservation.  You can feel good knowing that you are taking healthier steps for more beautiful skin with Mad Hippie’s amazing all-natural skincare line, while also working together towards a healthier planet. It may seem ‘mad’, but Mad Hippie proves corporate responsibility to renewable resources and outstanding packaging and design can go hand-in-hand.

I have dry, sensitive skin, so I look for products that offer maximum hydration and that is gentle (which means all natural) to use.  Mad Hippie has an excellent skin care line of oils, serums, creams, cleansers and sprays that you can easily find at your local natural grocery store, like Whole Foods or Central Market here in Austin.  While I could go on about many of their various favorite products of mine, I’m going to concentrate specifically on my absolute favorite body mist, Mad Hippie Skin Care’s Hydrating Nutrient Mist.

Mad Hippie Skin Care’s Hydrating Nutrient Mist uses ingredients like milk thistle, green tea and Vitamin C for extra protection and hydration and gives my skin a ‘glow’ without looking shiny.  The pomegranate seed extract and white pine bark evens out skin tone and reduces redness.  The mist has a crisp almost flowery scent (perhaps that is the Japanese pagoda tree ingredient?) that I love to use under makeup to firm skin and pat on top of make-up for a more natural look.  The instructions on the box offers a tip to spray the mist in your hand and apply to your face which works really well post-make-up.  This is also a great spray pre-work out with a fresh face.  For those looking for a skin care combo, Mad Hippie offers a deal on their Sun Protection Combo which includes the Hydrating Nutrient Mist, Vitamin C Serum, Antioxidant Facial Oil and a Facial SPF.   Love!
