If you haven’t gathered by now through my countless children’s book reviews, I believe reading to and with your children is extremely important to their development. I continue to see just how much reading with my children has fostered a love of the written word for them and I’m excited about the Start Little Learn Big book series through Parragon Books by the amazing Smriti Prasadam-Halls. We still own copies of her books, “Hello Bugs!” and “Hello, Animals”, from when Brooke was an infant. The black and white, high contrast illustrations of those are awesome for a baby’s focus. The Start Little Learn Big books are wonderful for preschoolers and it matches the fun of reading with core early education concepts like sharing and opposites. Brie particularly likes the lift-the-flap books (no explanation necessary there!) and also likes the unique illustrated tabs in books “Out and About” and “I Can Share.” While Brie won’t be a preschooler forever, she continues to build her love of learning and reading through books by Prasadam-Halls and the Start Little Learn Big series hardcover books are sturdy enough that she can share them with her own kids, should she choose to one day! Love!
