WordSpiel — It’s the word game – Where the END…is just –

Set Enterprises is excited to announce their WORDiful new game, WordSpiel^®!, by Marsha J. Falco.  The premise of the game is simple – Be the first to get rid of all 10 of their cards by making words – and it’s a whole lot of FUN. Each turn, simply start your word with the last card played. Just like the name – WordSpiel, Spiel uses the S from WordS.  Each word spins off the last so the game will never be the same twice. You can use the timer or take your time, just be sure to put your best word forward!

Players start out with 10 cards and the first player to get rid of all 10 of your cards by making words wins! At each turn, the player starts their word with the last card played.  For example, if a player played the word “FUN,” the next player could use the N to make “NO” or go back to the UN to make “UNITE” or they could use the entire word, FUN, and make “FUNNY” by simply adding NY.  Got it? Word size doesn’t matter, but ending with a tricky letter can really challenge your opponents.  This game creates a frenzy of fun as players try to find their word in 60 seconds or less.  WordSpiel combines wit, words, speed and a bit of strategy and Brooke has a blast playing with us.  While we have a good time using the timer, we use the 60 seconds as a suggestion rather than a rule, to give our first grader time to figure out a word, which works well for us.  She has made some very interesting and sometimes challenging words for us to build on and we always laugh when we try to ‘invent’ a word.  Ha!  This is a great game for building vocabulary for younger children and a way for all of us to think fast when using our letters.  Awesome!
