Paddington’s first trip to the beach is a day to remember as he explores the sandy shore and is swept off on a grand adventure!

The loved character of Paddington Bear has been written by Michael Bond since 1958 (WOW!) and has charmed readers around the world with his earnest good intentions and humorous misadventures.  A lovable bear that comes from the Darkest Peru, Paddington and his curious nature has him setting out on a new adventure in his new home in England when his makes his first trip to the beach.  While Paddington always has heartwarming intentions, his luck is not always with him and he finds himself being swept away out into the water in his own plastic beach bucket.  Where will this little bear with his soft spot for marmalade end up?

We love reading Paddington books and I love that this book is an I Can Read Level 1, so my daughter, Brooke, can read the book to me.  Score!  Spoiler alert, Paddington does make it back to the beach to reunite with his adopted family, but it’s the lovely storytelling and the sweet bear that make this another fun bear adventure to read.  Paddington Sets Sail is a Level One I Can Read book, which means it’s perfect for children learning to sound out words and sentences.
