Infant Sleep Safety System
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome is the leading cause of death among infants 1 month to 1 years old, and claims the lives of about 2,500 each year in the United States. My husband and I are very up-to-date on SIDS prevention because his older brother died of SIDS. While we don’t know how to PREVENT SIDS yet, we have learned a lot in the last few decades on how to protect your baby from SIDS. At Baby Sleeps Safe, they know that parents are always looking for ways to make their children as safe as possible. We have learned from the AAP says that the most effective way to prevent SIDS is to put a baby on its back to sleep, remove loose bedding, and create a cool sleeping environment. We used sleep sacks and laid our babies on their back when they were sleeping and were all about tummy time during the daytime to strengthen our children’s head and to prevent ‘flat head’.
I’m excited to tell you that Baby Sleeps Safe is a new product on the market that allows babies to move freely from side to side, while preventing them from rolling onto their tummies during sleep. Babies are put into little ‘sleep pouches’ that are zipped and closed in the front so your baby sleeps soundly and safely. The difference between these sleep sacks or pouches, is that Baby Sleeps Safe includes a Sleep Pouch lengthwise in the crib across the Sleep Panel, making sure the hook-and-loop patches on each are aligned to form a secure connection (remove the patch cover first). This product is durable for daily use and simple to use. For those parents concerned about SIDS, the Baby Sleeps Sage is a wonderful way to give parents peace of mind for their little ones sleeping in their cribs.
Disclaimer: The intent of this product is to safely support an infant who is not yet capable of rolling over onto it’s back. As your infant grows in his ability to independently roll over the product has served its purpose.

There is nothing (yet) that can prevent SIDS. But there are Safe Sleep Resources and steps you can take to protect your baby as much as possible. Here are some of the measures that the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends: (Cite: http://www.babysleepssafe.co)
- Always place infants up to 12 months on their backs to sleep – never on their tummies.
- Only use a firm mattress in your baby’s crib.
- Never use a pillow.
- Remove all objects from a crib – including loose blankets and toys.
- Avoid your baby’s overheating. Clothe your baby lightly for sleeping, and don’t cover your baby’s head.
- Keep your baby smoke-free. Moms-to-be: don’t smoke during pregnancy. Moms and dads: don’t allow any cigarette smoke around your infant.
Wrap the Sleep Panel around the middle of the mattress with the hook-and-loop patch facing up (over fitted bottom sheet). Secure the ends tightly at the bottom of the mattress.
Attach the Sleep Pouch lengthwise in the crib across the Sleep Panel, making sure the hook-and-loop pathes on each are aligned to form a secure connection (remove the patch cover first).
