SilverStar Ultra – The brightest downroad halogen headlight from SYLVANIA
After my husband and our two young girls were sideswiped on the road and our Subaru flipped over on its side and then back on its wheels, we have been very cautious to add any additional safety measures in our car to reduce the risk of it happening again. Our children were physically unharmed due to their five-point harness car seats, the other driver was speeding, and ran a red light, so while there wasn’t much we could really do to prevent the accident at the time, there are always more ways to increase your visibility and safety while on the road. The car accident happened last March on a dark Monday morning, and while Bob has his headlights on in the car, there are brighter headlight options for vehicles to help improve your vehicles vision to other cars on the road. Not only that, it will help the driver notice other potential obstacles in their path while driving at night. It seemed a simple and obvious solution to increase our family’s safety while in the car and an American company called SYLVANIA offers their Silverstar ULTRA headlights for the brightest and whitest lights for your car on the road. We have since upgraded our family’s Subaru to the ULTRA headlights and couldn’t feel better about the decision.
How do you feel when driving at night? Safe, secure, confident?
How do you answer the question, ““do you want to see better when driving at night?”” Sure! We all can use more light on the road when driving. You can feel more confident when driving with better lighting. Headlights are an active safety item, the first line of defense on the road. If you upgrade your vehicle to better headlights it helps maximize the amount drivers can see down road and side road, which can mean additional reaction time.
Replace Your Vehicle’s Headlights in Pairs
Lights, no matter the time of year, dim over time. To maximize visibility, it is important to replace headlights every few years, even before burnout. However, it is common for most people to wait until one burns out and replace it. At this point, it is very important to replace both bulbs at the same time. If one headlight is new and one old, there will be an uneven field of vision on the road, which can be a distraction to the driver and other drivers on the road. That’s why it’s important to always replace headlights in pairs. Here is a YouTube video SYLVANIA produced on how to install headlights.
The SYLVANIA SilverStar® ULTRA headlight
The SYLVANIA SilverStar® ULTRA headlight offers the brightest down road with a whiter light for more clarity in the SYLVANIA family. You will be able to see street signs and road markings more clearly that can help a driver with increased reaction time. Whiter light also improves contrast, allowing a driver to distinguish objects on the side of the road better.

For ULTRA Night Vision
While we realize that any driving on the road means that accidents can happen, we feel more secure having added brighter headlights to our family’s main vehicle. It’s a simple and inexpensive way to give Bob and I peace of mind that we are doing everything we can to prevent another car accident from happening to us. Remember to always keep your children buckled properly in car seats or boosters that are correctly mounted and remember – don’t be in a hurry! Accidents happen when drivers are distracted or careless and our children’s lives are put in danger each time that happens.
Third party research stats:
- According to National Driver Training, statistics show that five major causes of night traffic fatalities are defective rear lights, defective headlights, fog, driver fatigue and intoxication.
- Nearly half of all accidents occur at night despite 25 percent less traffic on the road due to limited visibility, a study by Carnegie Mellon indicates.
- Traffic death rates on the road occur at a rate three times greater at night than during the day, according to the National Safety Council.
- According to a study by the University of Iowa, a 20 to 50 percent reduction in headlight output leads to a 90 percent increase in the possibility of an accident occurring.
