Mary Stubberfield’s is a British artist, trained at Bournemouth College of Art. Her award-winning illustrations can be found worldwide in private collections and on the pages of children’s books and magazines. Her artwork has been exhibited widely in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Greece, where the artist came to the aid of cats in need while living on an island. Her cat illustrated twenty assorted (5 x 7 in.) holiday cards (5 each of 4 designs) with envelopes come in a decorative box and are PURR-fect for the holiday season.
Whether perched among the presents, snoozing under the tree, or cuddling beneath the mistletoe, Mary Stubberfield’s Christmas cats are sure to brighten the holiday season. The cards are printed on recycled paper with soy-based inks. Stubberfield supports cat charities and enjoys creating contemporary illustrations featuring her feline friends. About Mary Stubberfield: (from http://www.marystubberfield.co.uk/biography) I was born in Eastbourne, Sussex and have painted ever since I can remember. I trained in Illustration at Bournemouth College of Art and shortly after moved to London where I worked for publishers and designers. I was commissioned to illustrate books and magazines, greetings cards, advertisements and packaging. I started to exhibit paintings from travels in India and the Med and won the Art for Youth prize in 1994. I was part of a cooperative gallery Skylark in Gabriels Wharf on the South Bank. My work has been exhibited around London and the UK, the US and Greece and is in private collections worldwide. I am inspired by nature, the seaside and cats and enjoy using different mediums including watercolour, oils, acrylics and lino printmaking. I like to visit Greece and paint the stunning scenery and colours there. Currently showing at Bury Art Museum, Eastbourne Hospital and Art for Youth London. In my spare time I enjoy yoga, cinema, reading, cooking and swimming.
