Goodnight, Grizzle Grump! (Hardcover)

Goodnight, Grizzle Grump! (Hardcover)

It’s time for Grizzle Grump the bear to hibernate, and he can’t wait to sleep.

Sometimes we just read a book based on its cover.  Sure, I know the old saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover”, as it has been drilled into my head since I was little, but sometimes I do and sometimes it pays off when it comes to children’s books.  The name of this book is called Goodnight, Grizzle Grump! and it is as cute and funny as the illustrated bear holding his pillow and blanket tight and looking bleary eyed on the cover for the reader.  I thought, “Perfect nighttime book for the girls!” and it is true.

Grizzle Grump is trying to find the perfect spot to get some peace and quiet to hibernate for his long winter nap.  The exhausted bear is polite enough – at first – as he searches for a place to retreat until spring.  That is, until all of the woodland creatures are driving him crazy that he can’t seem to get any shuteye.  This turns Grizzle Grump into his perfect namesake and his frustrations just keep mounting.  WHAT’S ALL THAT NOISE!  Will Grizzle Grump be able to find a place to retreat for his winter nap?

Goodnight, Grizzle Grump! is a fun read-aloud picture book that is great to read to my girls before bed and, surprisingly, it is author, Aaron Blecha’s, first book that he has both written and illustrated.  If you want to check out some other books that Aaron has illustrated, look for the humorous book series, George Brown, Class Clown (Nancy Krulik) and Shark School (Davy Ocean).  I recommend checking out The Burp Box if you have kiddos who are age 7+!  You can also check out more of Aaron’s weird creations at
