I have a really eclectic style which my regular blog readers will more than likely think, “DUH!” I have always had this interesting fascination with all things ‘hippie’ or ’60s’ that may borderline on the unhealthy and definitely inspired by having a hippie-ish mom. I wore my mom’s old Earth Shoes to school in middle and high school and I was obsessed with a little place called “Artifacts Gallery” in Athens, Ohio – not far from where I grew up and where I went to college, a really quirky crochet, Army pants, karate shoes kind of place. Now if you don’t get those references, that is ok – you just weren’t into the same style as me. However, one cool style that is making a comeback in the mainstream is HEADBANDS. The headbands you wear on your forehead (just in case you were confused) and not just that – CROCHET headbands.

Do I belong at Coachella or what?!?

Yup, people like me get to say – what took you so long to come around? – while still happy with the fact that looking like you stepped out of Ali MacGraw’s closet circa the Love Story is no longer a reason for someone to point and whisper. Perhaps I was a little hasty in thinking my taking on mommy fashion as a new blog category may be quite the challenge! I am seriously loving all the styles I am learning about and a place called Little J has simply THE BEST crocheted headbands for the modern day fashionista.

Little J’s headbands are hand-crocheted (something I am still learning – ugh!) with a lovely stretchy feel that will fit toddlers to adults. Yes, I said TODDLERS. Believe me, I tried this on Baby Brie right away but realized she may pull it off more than me. Oops! The really nice thing is that there is an adorable button that can be customized (I like the silver color the best) as well as being completely washable while still retaining shape. There are many ways in which to wear the headband as far as the positioning of the button, but I love it towards the side or back best. Yes, I am definitely inspired by Little J and love their (and my!) style. Encore!
