Charcoal Bamboni Mini Blanket (Great for Baby Pictures!)
Saranoni, a Luxury Blanket Company
I have to laugh because sometimes I find myself fretting over things that are more like what we call ‘rich people problems’. I’m not rich by any stretch of the imagination, but I would be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy living where I do and doing what I do while I realize many in this world do not have that luxury.
That said, I still think about things like how I really want to focus on doing quality over quantity on baby pictures this time around. I have a ton of baby pictures of Brooke yet find myself always gravitating to the same ones we had done or just took time to make them look nicer. I also listened and paid attention during photo shoots to try and somewhat (very low scale level) replicate these pictures at home as an amateur family photographer for my own family.
My favorite baby photo trick? Using a fluffy blanket to use as a background! The Saranoni mini blankets (called Bamboni minis—awww!) are 15×20 inches and are the fluffiest blanket and perfect for pictures of your little babies.
Please learn from my mistakes, new mommas, and buy this blanket for pictures EARLY for newborn pictures. As you can see, even at just over seven months, Brie has a hard time sitting still for amateur momma pictures!
Believe me, my pictures now are quite a step up from my first time around with Brooke. I am so happy I have a ton of pictures, but having a really great picture of Brie is just awesome.
Um, trying to walk at seven months? WHAT?
See? She is NOT messing around. My proof!
And because I am now convinced that my youngest daughter likes to keep me on my toes (too many coincidences, it is starting to add up, Brie!), as soon as I decided I was getting good enough at photos to actually do this review, she decided to start going from barely crawling to trying to walk within a week, so now all my pictures look like the above as she will not sit still for one second.
This was not what I had planned since Brooke took her own time with this whole trying to walk thing!
Lucky for you (and me!), I have a close, personal friend and LOCAL photographer that I asked to help me out. I’m an amateur momma photographer and not a miracle worker. I asked him to take some pictures for me which I will include below just in case you were looking for someone in Austin to do some cool photos for you. So, let’s just say this post worked out even better than I had originally hoped as I took pictures of my wiggling child. Hey, some things happen for a cool reason!
Gasp! Aren’t they beautiful!? Look at that sweet little girl! And – Please don’t go back and compare my pictures to a professional! Ha!
(Cite: Robert (Bob) Paxton, family lifestyle photographer) Thanks, Bob (and Simone!) for saving my post!
Have older babies? Saranoni has wonderful fluffy blankets in all sizes-not just these minis- for your mobile ones. Also, having an extra helper to distract baby (my older daughter Brooke usually helps to get Brie to smile) is priceless! I’m going to keep trying and get it right with practice. Yeah for baby pictures!
