Yes, I am a product of the PBS show Sesame Street, and have taught my daughter the Rainy Day song when it happens to be a rainy day. Do any other parents out there sing this with your kiddos?

That’s just the chorus and the rest of the song goes on to talk about why water is so important. In fact, every living thing needs water! But, what about when the rain turns into a big, large LOUD thunder storm?
Tap, Tap, Boom, Boom! We rush to shelter and sometimes shiver with fear when thunderstorms hit! A book by the same name is a great read for kids when you have the rainy day -and thunder- blues. As someone who has had to spend an afternoon in a Laundromat in my early twenties due to a flash flood, I certainly understand how big storms can bring people together and Tap Tap Boom Boom has an underlining message of weather and community that is a great read for preschoolers.
P.S. We had a pretty big thunderstorm recently (complete with hail!) and this was the perfect book to read during the storm. Really cool! I love its message to find shelter when you hear that tap tap boom boom!
