The Museum of Modern Art Collection

If you have been following my blog for some time you know I’m a huge believer in dealing and discussing emotions. My daughter is always quick to say if she is sad, mad or happy and then articulate why and a lot of that has to do with products we have used together to get her in tune with her feelings and the feelings of others. The Museum of Modern Art (or MoMA) Art Lab: People, is an education initiative to help children with art through experimentation and play and they have a fantastic product called Build-A-Robert that teaches kids three and up about emotions.

Build-A-Robot is a fun wood robot design with four interchangeable heads. Each head depicts a different emotion (sad, mad, surprised and happy). Your child can have fun choosing different faces for their robot as well as each head having a different tactile and auditory experience. It is also useful in developing fine motor skills since the robot’s arms and legs are movable. Be sure to check out the other kid’s products catalog, especially their Art Lab: People collection which is very unique and quite educational.
