I have to laugh a little now at how we watched out for baby milestones as if they were a ‘make or break’ issue with our first child. Wanting Brooke off the preemie scale was important and so was walking. Well, I’m happy to say we are now coming into second time parenthood with a relaxed attitude (especially after a doozy of a difficult pregnancy and after a miscarriage) to just be glad our second daughter is here! However, I still love to keep track of milestones for her baby book and the Milestone Baby Cards are adorable and brilliant for our scrapbook. I love looking back at Brooke’s book and I did track everything. I may not be as diehard of a tracker as before, but this child will definitely have a complete (albeit ‘unauthorized’) autobiography by the time she is in college! Enjoy and be proud of your child’s accomplishments and make them special no matter when they happen!
Milestone Baby Cards started out as the brainchild of Dutch mom Gemma Broekhuis to track her son’s milestone in card form. This awesome idea soon blossomed and her really cute cards are now sold in 15 countries, including the United States. They have won multiple awards including in the U.K., United States and the Netherlands in just the past year. The illustrations are what make the cards pop and they include such cool topics like first smile and first sitting up. The idea is to fill out each card as you go and snap a picture to include with the card. Awesome! It’s like a mini photo album of feats that you can also easily incorporate into baby and scrapbooks. Each box includes 30 6″ x 4″ illustrated cards and they also make excellent shower gifts. Highly recommended!
