We have subscribed to the whole music and movement program since our daughter was old enough to sit up and groove to her first tune.  We are a family of music lovers, songwriters and musicians and it naturally bleeds over into our family time on a daily basis.  Our daughter, now a preschooler, is quick to dance and sing and makes up the best lyrics on the spot.  I remember when she was probably around 18 months old and we were at the Austin downtown farmers market seeing a live bluegrass band and little Brooke went right in the middle of the dance floor (by herself!) to bust out her moves.  She got quite a roaring round of applause.  It was at that moment I realized our free spirited song and dance times at home were doing exactly what I had hoped, giving her the confidence to be confident in her own artistic ability.  We want the same for little Ms. Baby Brie and I love CDs like this one by ABC Do-Re-Me that encourages musical playtime.

Welcome to the Musical Playdate CD by ABC Do-Re-Me! is all original music from the popular NYC children music program ABC Do-Re-Me that focuses on music and movement for young children.  The thing I really love about this CD is that the songs are fun and educational and offer an array of many genres of music.  You can hear rock, punk, folk and traditional all rolled into one so that your child is exposed to all sorts of great musical styles.  Dancing and music go hand-in-hand in this CD and you can easily incorporate your own musical instruments to add even more fun.  If you live in the NY area (find a class here), check out the ABC Do-Re-Me! center to take a class in person.  Very cool!
