Warm Tradition Lamb Hot Water Bottle (For Kids, All Ages)

Lamb

Warm Tradition’s Lamb Hot Water Bottles are great for Infants, Children, Teens & Adults!

Your seven week old baby is crying after being fed, burped, changed and rocking to get those tummy bubbles out (even the usual go to method of bicycling the legs!).  Gas drops?  Probiotics?  Forget about it!  It’s a cruel thing that nature has done to give a sleep deprived new mom a baby who has trouble digesting those first few months!  You would have thought I would have remembered things we had done when nothing else seemed to work but a few years can do strange things to a parent’s mind.  Brooke was a preemie and had what people would deem as ‘colic’ but it was really a short way of saying her digestive system was not up to par yet.  I am not sure if my own issues with gestational diabetes and high risk pregnancy have anything to do with Brie’s tummy fun (she was born at exactly 38 weeks, thank goodness!), but perhaps all parents go through those lovely months of baby becoming more ‘human’ and digestive issues aren’t just for ladies in yogurt commercials!  Deliriously I remembered a trick I used to do with my older daughter – a nice warm washcloth on her tummy.  Oh la la!  It worked and mommy gets a three hour nap!  Is it no wonder I sought out an old fashioned water bottle but with a nice new modern twist for my infant?

Warm Tradition is a Brooklyn, New York Company that has the largest hot water bottle specialty site that is in the United States.  While the bottles are made with high quality, no-leak eco-friendly thermoplastic BPA-free in Germany, all of their cozy covers are made right here in the USA.  It was the covers that really got me and their designs for children were exactly what I wanted.  The soft texture and adorable design not only makes this hot water bottle awesome to the touch, it also is perfect for kids who want ‘lambie’ to make them feel better.  So what exactly do you use a hot water bottle for anyway?  It’s a great soother for infants and kids from ear and stomach aches to just fears and stress.  This is not just for children (hey, the lamb design works for me, too!), adults can use the water bottle for arthritis pain, back pain, pregnancy pain, menstrual pain – well, I’m sure you can think of a million things, too.  It is as simple as heating up hot water to place in the bottle (up to a liter or approximately 34 ounces) and slipping on the cover for hours (up to 6!) of relief.  This is a large size bottle which I love that is easy to fill with a large neck to pour in the water and an easy grip cap to tightly close it shut.  While this was first used for a baby colic soother in our home, it quickly became a friend to my older daughter who apparently had ‘tummy pain’ and needed it, too (aka fake injury for her sister’s new friend)!  I think this Lamb will be in our family a long time and the two year manufacturing guarantee ensures that for at least the near future!

Quick tip:  I don’t  fill the water bottle up all the way when I use on the baby, will only use on her tummy when in attendance and it works best with her laying on it on her belly only.  Always be safe!
