I admit I secretly always wanted to learn how to make pottery and have my own pottery wheel. With Craft Project Ideas, the dream has come to fruition and has made an awesome daughter and mom tag-team event. As a preschooler, my older daughter is awesome at painting and as the ‘older kid’ (okay, sigh, adult), I get to try my hands at sculpting. There is nothing like a family project to laugh away the afternoon. Brook was able to ‘help’ as the wheel turned and I showed her the different techniques to try and make a decent looking pot. While ‘decent’ may be an overstatement, it was not a shabby attempt and since you can purchase more clay and paint, this set can last for many years. If you get exceptionally good, you and your child can make advanced pots, bowls and vases. The wheel itself is really light weight and includes a neat electric foot pedal so you feel like you are spinning like a professional.
