Monster Knows Numbers {Boardbook} (Age PreK-Grade 3)
From the Monster Knows Math Series
If there is one thing that really gets my three year old pumped, it is MONSTERS! She loves talking about them, pretending to be them and giggling and laughing when we do MONSTER tickles (private game, so hard to explain). She has taken to creating her own Monster persona called ‘Basketface’ which stems from (you got it) putting baskets on her face and feet and slipping around the house saying she is BASKETFACE! Oooooohhhhh! I think my mom, the basket weaver, was pretty amused. So, of course, any book that features a monster is a big hit and it is even better when we throw a little education in there.
Monster Knows Numbers is part of the Early Reader Monster Knows Math Series from Capstone. It only focuses on the numbers 1-10 but does it in a way that is hilarious for kids. For example, the pages with “6 Bug Cookies Make Great Morning Snacks” were quite funny for her. Monsters like gross things but they still like to count! We have gotten a big kick out of this book and love to re-read. It is a funny, silly and learning adventure that any little monster lover will find amusing.

Sounds like a lot of fun… and this is how it should be with learning at this age
Thank you for your recommendation
I’ve heard wonderful things about Capstone, but we’ve never had any. I think it’s time for me to look into them for my 3 year old. Thanks!
Anything that makes my kids want to learn in a different way is good for me. My daughter is 2yr old she has just started to talk so counting for her is fun as she hears it like a song and picks it up right away.
