Forgive my ignorance on gaming.  I had no idea Plants vs. Zombies was a game and just thought they were a cute children’s book series perfect for the Halloween season.  Apparently, Plants vs. Zombies has been quite a popular game from PopCap Games that first released in 2009.  It is now available through Windows, iOS, IPad, Android and PS3.  Whoops!  In what is described as a ‘sickeningly cute’ game, people or animals defend themselves against zombies through plants.  Yes, plants.  Zombies can be stopped by different things like garlic and fungi and each player gets seed packs to start the game.  How this translated into a children’s series complete with stickers is an easy transition to see.  My daughter loves talking about monsters and this is such a tame version of keeping zombies away with things like carrots and potatoes that it is also on a kid level.  Throw in classic fairy tales like Jack and the Bean Stalk and the Three Little Pigs defending their house and you have an instant zombie tale classic for the pint sized.  Plus you get 30 stickers in each book!  Would I spoil the ending if I said the story book characters beat the zombies?  Yeah, I didn’t think so!  It’s a fun and sweet read for spooky Halloween although your child may get more giggles than gasps over this one.
