I am pretty sure I mentioned one of my favorite adventures as a kid was getting to go to the Center of Science and Industry (COSI) in Columbus, Ohio with my Brownie troop.  In fact, it was the entire reason I even decided to be a Brownie that year.  I wanted to make the hour and a half trip to the ‘big city’ for some hands on scientific fun.  I have so many awesome memories from that experience and one that really sticks out in my mind was the fun Panning for Gold exhibit.  Yes, you really got to pan for gold and, yes, you got to keep any gold you found!  It was fun and exciting and a great way to learn about the U.S. Gold Rush that began in 1848.  Not only did the Gold Rush start the boom of California, especially in places like San Francisco, there is also a direct transcontinental transportation link for those heading out West.  While you won’t strike it rich with this kit (the ‘gold’ is fools gold or pyrite), this is still a fun interactive adventure for kids that gets their imagination running wild!

The Learn How to Pan for Gold! Kit is a fun game on how to ‘strike it rich’.  The kit is perfect for the novice treasure hunters that include a 10″ prospector’s pan, and two bags of dirt with pyrite nuggets as well as special mining tools.  The kit include a fun adventure guide on tips and secrets on ways to be a good prospector as well as 10 fun games and challenges to use their noggin.  Any child with an adventurous spirit will love this kit and since I’m a big kid it was fun to play together.  We may never strike it rich but the time spent together is certainly priceless.
