Hooray for Books!  Hooray for the Library!

Amelia Bedelia has her first trip to the library with her classmates.  She just knows she will have such fun getting her first library card, checking out books, helping the front desk, reading stories and meeting all the librarians!  How exciting!  However, not everything turns out the way Amelia expected.  First, she brings a juice box into the library (a definite NO-NO) and gets books sticky.  However, things get back on track when she is introduced to all the wonderful sections of the library as well as fun books to read.  But then she accidentally picks out the wrong book about clouds instead of cupcakes (the one she really wanted) and didn’t realize it until after she had checked out.  Even worse, she leaves her book outside in the middle of a rainstorm and it gets completely soaked!  How is she ever going to fix this?  Amelia learns accidents happen and that when you own up to them things don’t turn out so bad.  Plus, the library and the librarians were a great source of information, especially when it came to books on cupcakes!
