My world as a child seemed SO big when I rarely went past Sunset Street on my bike in a very small village in SE Ohio.  You could look around and see the forest and mountains and it seemed like such a huge world that I lived in at the time.  Little did I know, but was grateful for, my first trip out of the country as a teenager.  My life – my world – changed for the better.  The fear and the arrogance that Ohio was the best place to live that was fed to me by friends and certain family members did not squash my new desire to explore.  In fact, it probably fueled it.  I was not done seeking and searching and learning.  I got my child (soon to be children) passports as soon as I could not because I had any specific travel plans yet, but I had certain plans that their first trip overseas would come way before mine ever did.  I’ve already made it a habit to teach Brooke other cultures from dress, to language to foods to play and she has had multiple toys that are map-related to show her we are not alone and isolated.  I was quite in awe of the B. Toys Global Glowball not only because it is a functional globe for kids as young as 8 months, it also is a great musical tool of the different continents.  Excellent!
