Product Review: Totter Towers (Age 3+)

One of the World’s Largest Producers of Toys Made from Sustainable Materials

If you look for eco-friendly toys for your child then you will know about Hape Toys.  They are practically on every sustainable child toy e-commerce site I have ever encountered.  I was intrigued by their new award-winning Oppenheim Toy called the Totter Towers for its unique design of building blocks from their bamboo line and wanted to do a review.

The Totter Towers are very distinct bamboo ring building blocks that can be made and shaped into a variety of structures and helps improve hand-eye coordination.  This is definitely a creative child’s dream and interestingly enough so that parents want to join in the building fun.  The design was done in cooperation with the Weimar Bauhaus University (the famous art school in Germany) and it helps to develop geometric and special awareness for children.  Brooke, who has formed a love of building through several products I have reviewed, took to these interesting building blocks right away and began putting the loops at different angles and building them upward.  I can see she will be playing with these blocks for many years and they are exceptional play-date toys sure to be the hit of the party!

About Hape Toys:  Hape toys are both creative and eco-friendly.  Hape Toys is a passion and product of Peter Handstein who grew up in a rural area in central Germany.  Hape Kindergarten Supply was formed by Peter, his sister and friend Renate in 1986.  In 1987, Peter moved to Ningbo, China and began embracing ecological practices and the use of bamboo in his products with his first full line coming on the market in 2005.  Today Hape is a socially responsible company that sells toys in over 50 countries.  Wow!

    • Hi June! Thanks for your comment. They are really fun to play and stack. Brooke can actually stack them really high which impresses me since they are mostly all different sizes. Great building fun for kids.
