Product Review: Pirate Santa (Hardcover) and Audio CD (All Ages)
A children’s Christmas Book about Tattooed Pirates in the Caribbean that Save the Day
Arrgghhh, Matey! Where do pirates go to eat fast food? ARRRBy’s restaurant. How much do pirates get charged for pierced ears? A buck an ear. I got a million of them! I am an official pirate sympathizer. In the great pirate versus ninja debate (and if you don’t know what I’m talking about, it’s because you are not a nerd), I have always sided with pirates. I love them because they are just so cool with their eye patches and parrots and own funny language. So, of course when I heard there was a Pirate Santa book, I was intrigued. When I learned more about the thoughtful message and beautiful illustrations, I knew it was something I wanted to share with Brooke.
Pirate Santa is a surprisingly sweet (and AWARD winning) book for children on the importance of being a good human being. It has won a ton of awards and it is easy to see why. The moral of the story is fantastic. It’s a very real message that it’s okay to make mistakes, in fact, no one is perfect. However, you can correct bad choices in the future and Santa won’t penalize you by withholding presents if you honestly try and be good. I can see this becoming a holiday book tradition. Oh, and the illustrations are BEAUTIFUL! The Audio CD is just icing on the cake and don’t forget to listen to the sample song from the CD that is available on the Pirate Santa website!
