Product Review: Alex Balancing Baker (Age 2+)
Provide Children with Quality Creative Products that Foster Personal Expression and Build Self-Esteem
We are in the process of teaching Brooke about the concepts of weight and balance. She loves to balance her weight on my yoga blocks, my hard-bodied guitar case and now her cool new foam balance beam. However, understanding how stacking blocks to balance evenly on a seesaw-like item was quite a different notion for her. Alex Toys offers a wonderful Little Hands series to help young children learn important lessons like this in a fun and imaginative way. While I searched for some simple balancing mechanisms, I found the seesaw baker who needs to load up 16 wooden cakes by stacking them on his arms as a interesting and tricky way for a child to learn how important it is to evenly distribute weight. This product is made of sustainable wood and fun for ages 2 and up. Brooke has gotten so much better at distributing weight on each side of the product when, at first, she would continue to stack on one side. It has definitely helped her gain that understanding. Love it.
Extra Bonus (for me)! This was a birthday gift from her wish list! Thanks Aunty and Uncle! Remember to keep those wish lists updated, parents!
