Product Review: I Am Sleepy! with Sukey Molloy CD (Perfect for Familes!)
Cozy Music, Stories, and Poetry for Bedtime. Released October 16!
There are many things that make me happy and family music for bedtime wind down is definitely one of them. Songs like ‘Sleep Eye’ is a nice cue for my daughter to know it is time for bed and we have a special CD player we keep high on her shelf that we play while we get ready for bed and then start again from track one as we leave the room. We rotate nice lullaby and sleepy time CDs and I am always on the lookout for another album that offers comforting melodies and sweet lyrics. I am happy to report that the multiple-award winning musician, Sukey Molloy, is releasing her latest children’s album this October called I Am Sleepy! and it is just the ticket!
Sukey combines lullabies with storytelling, poetry and gentle vocals with a background of fantastic musicians on a variety of instruments such as the harp, recorder, violin, dulcimer, guitar, bass, and piano. I got slightly choked up when hearing the song ‘Hush My Little One’ (my clear favorite) which talks about all the precious moments spent with your child. Really, though, we can listen to the track listing in its entirety and feel satisfied. As Brooke and I are expert Shadow Dancers (we like to watch our shadows on the wall as we dance) we enjoyed ‘Shadows Dance Upon My Wall’ and the ending track, ‘All the World is Sleeping’ is so peaceful and soothing it puts me to sleep. Lovely, lovely album for those looking for a nighttime album for your kids.

Little Tidbit! Oh, and I have to throw this in for all you Texans, Sukey’s co-producer, Larry Alexander, has worked with many huge stars, but Austinites may be particularly interested in his work with Willie Nelson. After all, we just erected a statute in downtown Austin of our Willie!
