Product Review: Stepping Into Science Kit (Age 5+)

Have you ever watched the NOVA series or any of those universe shows hosted by Morgan Freeman? My husband and I are almost addicted to watching them if we ever have a moment to watch TV at night. When you think about all the crazy things we have learned based off of Einstein’s theory of relativity in science it really blows my mind. I am enthralled at all the interesting experiments in the field of particle physics still happening at CERN in Bern and it sometimes makes me wonder about the very existence of our own dimensional world. I am always interested in bringing the field of science into my daughter’s world and, I tell you, I have a difficult time finding quality science products for young children. Why is that, I wonder? I was happy to discover a really fun science kit that introduces experiments for kids as young as five in five key areas of scientific investigation; nature, physics, chemistry, air, and water.
Stepping Into Science Kit is a great way to start your child on the path of scientific investigation and method with this 28-item 26 experiment set. I love the hands-on approach to scientific learning and it really does start with some fantastic fundamentals in a very step-by-step approach. I don’t even know where to start with all the fun experiments; learn how static electricity attracts, grow some plants, make super soap bubbles, create a barometer, build a boat, learn about evaporation, the list goes on and on… I love that there is a science kit for kids five and older and think the Stepping into Science kit is at an age-appropriate level (although you can modify and do visual learning for the younger crowd), I’d love for an even younger kit to come out for the 3+ crowd. However, until then, I am really happy with this kit and recommend this product and I think our family had a lot of fun working through the experiments together.
