Product Review: Fun and Games CD by Ben Rudnick and Friends (All Ages)
Jamming For the Next Generation
Positive. Happy. Fun. These were the adjectives I used to describe as justification for another new CD for my daughter and I found all of these elements in Ben Rudnick and Friend’s CD “Fun and Games”. I can’t forget the other appropriate descriptive words of heartwarming and comforting, especially with the lovely song (song by the Cowboy Junkies Margot Timmons) called “Everything is Alright” with lyrics like, ‘go to sleep, it’s alright. No worry, yes, it’s alright’. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! My husband called this band very They Might Be Giants-esque, which I think is a pretty fair band comparison (yes, we love They Might Be Giants). The songs have an ultra silly mix of songs like Macaroni and Cheese and the slithery Sally Salamander. Sure, you aren’t going to learn how to cure cancer or how to find the square root of a complex number, but you will get a great earful from an entertaining multi-instrumental band of musicians that put a lot of happy energy into their music for our kids that adults will also find entertaining. I’m sold!
