Musical Yoga for Kids

I consider myself a yoga freak and when I first heard about Kira’s music CD that incorporates half the listing with folk/pop music mixed with half of music tracks specifically to do yoga with voice-over instructions for our kids, I was hooked.  The “Kings & Queens of the Forest” is a follow-up CD to Kira Wiley’s award-winning debut “Dance for the Sun” that stands out to me because of the 13 bonus Yoga Tracks.  Kira’s voice is so lovely (think Nora Jones) and is very upbeat and happy which is excellent to engage children with the music.  The bonus of this album is that Kira includes a lyric booklet with instructional guides for families that include illustrations of 50 of Kira’s kid-friendly yoga routines.  Score!

About Kira Willey: Kira is a mom of three children, lover of Waldorf, yoga instructor and singer/songwriter from Bethlehem, PA.  She has had a deep passion for music since starting to play the violin at the age of five.  She has been a certified yoga instructor for children since 1996 when she founded Fireflies Musical Yoga for Kids.  She released her first album “Dance for the Sun” a year later which has won many music awards including the Independent Music Award for Best Children’s Album.  Kira is currently working on a lullaby album for future release.
