I have a love/hate affair with dentists, but mostly it is a hate affair. It isn’t necessarily the dentist’s fault although I have had my fair share of scary experiences with twitchy dentists and assistants and their wielding their drill like a steak knife. I will cop to some of the hatred as my own dread of not knowing what is going on, painful pricks of needles that I can’t see and the screeching of a drill press into my tooth that manages to buzz directly into my ear canal. Ouch! I curse those years I skipped going to the dentist when I did not have the supplemental insurance so I could ‘save’ money. Saving money in the short term for teeth is never a good thing if you happen to live long enough to really see that damage to your pocketbook as well as your chompers as you age. Bah! So how do you make those formative years of dental visits less scary for your little ones to get them excited about the dentist chair with so few children’s products on the market? With the Play-Doh Doctor Drill ‘N Fill Playset, of course!
The Play-Doh Doctor Drill ‘N Fill Playset is a fun kid-friendly kit full of dental play for your child that includes three cans of Play-Doh Modeling compound. Your child can ‘make’ teeth, braces, fill cavities and brush teeth for the included model head. There are lots of tools included for your little dentist such as an electric drill, tweezers, dentist tool, mirror, braces roller and toothbrush presser. 2 “AA” batteries are needed and are not included in the set. While I can not guarantee this will not make your child love going to their semi-annual tooth cleaning or, heaven forbid, cavity fill, it will at least give them the perspective of active play as a dentist to show it is not always just fun and games when keeping our teeth in good condition.
