I was an avid reader of Mad Magazine when I was growing up and one of my favorite things to read in the strip was a comic called Spy vs. Spy. I think all kids dream about being a secret agent and the comic was first published in January of 1961 as a metaphor for the Cold War. In each strip, the two warring agents (one dressed all in white and one in all black) are constantly trying to harm each other with an alternating result between victory and defeat. The comic is STILL being written today, which shows the huge interest that we still have in the field of espionage. Apparently, that love is deeply instilled within my family, too.

My husband was just as excited as our oldest daughter about getting a set of ‘super cool’ walkie talkies. SpyX by Mukikim is a ‘Jr. James Bond’ line that is perfect for children ages 6-16 (or ‘adult’ children, like me). This line takes design cues from cutting edge technology and real field equipment. It’s the next generation of awesome. Designs are rough and tough so it’s as durable as your kiddos.
It was so much fun pretending to talk to your fellow agent! The walkie talkies just look cool and remind me of a game controller we had as a child. The walkie talkies features an interphone safety flexible antenna and a PTT button and speaker. As Brooke had mastered the art of using an intercom system with Brie’s baby monitor over a year ago, this was a simple set for her to use and, BOY, was SHE EXCITED. We were quickly testing the boundaries of the range and it is pretty impressive that we can actually use them anywhere in our house. I love finding products that my husband loves just as much as our girls. This is the perfect holiday gift for kids and definitely a product I think we’ll be using for a long time. Red Bird.
