With plenty of witchy magic and sparkle, this not-too-spooky story is a Halloween treat that will be enjoyed throughout the year.

I had to look twice at this book cover to make sure this was a new book! This book is a sequel to our favorite Halloween book from last year called I am a Witch’s Cat. For a recap, here are some gems from the book:

I know my mom is a witch because she keeps ‘strange potions’ in the bathroom that I’m not allowed to touch
……because she grows a ‘magical’ herb garden
……because when her friends come over they sit around and CACKLE and swap ‘spells’ AKA cooking books.

Hilarious! Well, we follow the little ‘witch’s cat’ in her ever-present black cat costume for Halloween again this year and the follow-up is just as cute. The illustrations were created with paper, foil, fabric and other fun materials to give a 3-D photograph-look on top of drawings. It is quite unique. The storyline is all about the little girl trying to find the perfect costume for Halloween, but really, what could be better than a witch’s cat? This is the perfect book for Halloween and really hits the nail on the head about the power of imagination and storytelling which is what this season is all about.
