Mt Playmore for Kids (Austin, TX)
Your kids aren’t ever going to want to leave once they see the largest indoor playground in Central Texas. Food, Games, Parties and prizes round out the fun at Mt. Playmore.
If you are looking for some fun INDOOR (AKA anti-HOT) activities to do with the whole family in Austin, then you should try Mt Playmore which is THE largest indoor playground in central Texas and it has just celebrated it’s ONE YEAR anniversary. You and your family can spend hours entertaining the little ones with the large Playscape, Arcade, Toddler Area and even a restaurant. Brooke and I were able to make a day of it on her recent break from school and I have to say I was pretty impressed with all the activities we were able to do. I also learned that with the cost of admission (prices listed below), you can actually stay all day or even leave and return during your 1-day admission as long as you don’t wash off your stamp. How is that for fantastic?
Tip! Everyone must wear socks (this includes you, grown-ups!)
Playscape
The Mt. Playmore playscape is truly “Texas Sized” at 120 ft X 60 ft, and stands 18 feet tall, which is the same size as a 3,000 square foot house. While the playscape is essentially for the fun of the children, parents are free to comfortably play along with their children, without having to squeeze through impossible tight spaces or crawl on hard surfaces. There are tensioned web floors throughout and when parents tire out before their energetic kids, there is a central seating area in the middle of our playscape that lets them keep an eye on their kids when they want to relax.
Arcade
You can purchase Rechargable Fun Cards in place of tokens for arcade games!
I was most surprised at Mt. Playmore’s large arcade area. I am never one to pass up a chance to play Skeeball! You and your children can challenge your luck on the games either alone or with friends. The arcade area features exciting arcade games and ticket redemption machines, and I learned will be adding many more in the coming months. When you’re done playing, you bring your reward tickets to their ticket redemption counter to redeem them for great stuff from their fabulous prize selection.
Toddler Area
While our little toddler was off at preschool, I checked out Mt. Playmore’s toddler area which I learned is one of the largest toddler only areas in Austin. It has over 1400 sq ft of space filled with age appropriate toys, activities, and play elements. My youngest would love all the ride on toys and games which I know would keep her busy for hours.
Restaurant
Mt. Playmore conveniently has a restaurant that serves up kid-friendly foods. I’m talking about pizza, burgers and chicken tenders. There is also lots of great foods (like salads!) for parents to enjoy. The prices are reasonable and there is always a crowd in line waiting on food. Servers give each table a number to easily wait for food and stake your claim at the many tables.
Our Family Trip!
Brooke has just started her fall vacation from school (I know!) so it was the perfect time to check out Mt. Playmore early on a Monday before things got too crowded. Surprisingly, it did not take long for the building to fill up. She had such a blast and told me her favorite part was playing on the gigantic landscape. I made a mental note to bring the kiddos back next week during Reptile Day (Wednesdays) when her grandparents are in town visiting from Ohio. We even discussed doing her next birthday party here since it was a great way for parents to relax while their children played and with the ample games, playscapes, and food for all age levels, Mt. Playmore really is the perfect party place for kids of all ages. AND – ALL INDOORS!
