One of our favorite activities to do together as a family is make food.  Even before we had kiddos, Bob and I regularly hosted parties and BBQs to showcase different meals.  Just like Bob and his briskets, Brooke has her own favorite food that she likes to prepare in the kitchen and she is all about desserts.  She impressed me with her ability to make Cake Balls several months back and she wanted to try her hand at making other types of candy.  Moose Toys has a fun Chocolate Bar Maker kit that has everything but the actual chocolate, topping and fillings to make your own candy bars.  But wait – isn’t the actual food the most important part?  We learned that it isn’t!

Moose Toys Chocolate Bar Maker is a collection of tools for the chocolate bar maker.  There are dispensers, squeezers, molds and wrappers so you can make your own designs.  By adding your favorite chocolate and fillings, you can make choc-tastic creations for your friends and family!  The molds are easy to use and we learned that the most important part is getting your chocolate into a nice consistency by heating it up slowly and squeezing it into the molds while it is ‘fluid’.  We created our own tabletop toppings and filling bar.   This would be a fun project to do with friends.  Besides the limited number of wrappers, you can reuse the molds and tools over and over again.  Here is a link to some yummy chocolate bar recipes.  Moose Toys also has a Chocolate Bar ‘Tips and Tricks” page that offers great advice on the best ways to make your chocolate bars here.  Lots of chocolatey fun!
