Author is Chris Barnardo, a father of four, and the creator of the hit website dadcando.com.
Since Bob returned to the workforce, I’ve become the pseudo initiator of fun in our household. From playground to playdates, mom can usually call the shots in what our family can do in our downtime. As the orchestrator of activities, I decided to act like a muse and tell Bob about a wonderful new book from a dad that has interesting and unique projects for fathers to make with their children. When he did not hesitate to say he wanted a copy, I relaxed in knowing that my responsibilities would soon be shared and that he girls would be able to have some daughter-daddy bonding memories to last a lifetime.
The Made With Dad book did not disappoint as I started to see regular household items turned into playthings for the kids. The activities (like making paper zoos to dolls) have been engaging and seamless for our weekend activities and work for both boys and girls. The book reads as a friendly manual with full-color photographs and detailed instructions for dad to create objects for play. Bob has been reading his copy before bed and the activities seem to stay with him since he uses the book as a reference point for his designs. I love that Bob has gotten so many great ideas from Made With Dad that he actually incorporates that I wish it would have been written sooner. If you are looking for a great dad gift or you want to find ways that dad can be more present in the kids activities, do not hesitate to check out this book!
