After many, many, MANY months of soul searching after going through some major post-partum depression and anxiety that wouldn’t quit I read a fun quote by Julia Child. “Never apologize for your cooking”. Simple, right? But I took it as a sign and a release of much pent-up frustrations and apologies for myself that I was never quite up to par in all areas of my life.

Hello. I’m Jeanna and I have faults and quirks. Guess what? I’m not sorry about them. I laugh too loud, I talk too much, I hate wearing dresses, I love weird and interesting things, I am quirky, self-conscious and love my alone time and I don’t need to apologize or be forgiven by anyone but myself. And I have. We are all unique and we are all one-of-a-kind and that is a beautiful thing. I realized in therapy that I wasn’t there to work to make myself different, I was working to learn to love the person that I AM. I’m there!

I don’t want my kids to have to go through the same long and difficult journey to accept who they are and I want them to feel free to be themselves. I love clothing companies like Quirkie Kids that spread the message that we should all feel free to be who we are and wear what we want. No child should have their gender or decisions questioned, judged or teased for what they want to wear. For what they like.
