Hawaiian Falls Water Park in Pflugerville (Local Austin, Texas)
Hawaiian Falls operates family friendly Water Parks and Adventure Parks in North, Central and South Texas!
For those that didn’t know (which is probably most of my readers since I didn’t announce it on my blog), we had to say goodbye to our rescue cat of 13 years, Spike, on Friday. It has been a difficult few days, to say the least, and we have banded together as a family to grieve while still living our life to the fullest to make this 4th of July weekend special for some family bonding time while feeling the loss of one of our beloved furry members. I saved the best outing for last and decided to high tail it up to Pflugerville (just north of Austin) to go to its newest water park adventure called Hawaiian Falls on Sunday. This weekend they were celebrating military members and Veterans (like Bob, so BINGO!) and had some great discounts for Independence Day.
We spent the best Fourth of July weekend hanging out at the Hawaiian Falls Water Park & Adventure Park in Pflugerville. For this family of four (with two littles) it offered a perfect escape and, surprisingly, a lot to do with small children. The park has awesome lazy rivers and water slides for family fun during the summer. For the older and more adventurous kids and adults, the park has over 1500 feet of zip line, 1000-feet of rope courses, Extreme Free Falls and lots of ways to chill all summer long!
Our favorite ride was the Lazy River where we could easily take both Brooke and Brie down the 3′ meandering pool that curves around the part. We learned floaties are not allowed but luckily the park is stoked with infant and children’s life jackets so Brie was covered. The little sand pit area was an awesome surprise and both girls had fun digging in the sand and making sand castles before cooling and rinsing off in the pool. Brooke braved the wave pool and had a blast. Bob and I even took turns going down the Maui Wowee Body Slide while the other watched the kiddos. It was definitely worth it!
Look out for the Shaka Meter! The Hawaiian Falls Shaka Meter rates the park water slides and attractions from 1 to 5. One, being easy and calm to a five meaning intense or thrilling.
Are you an adventurous family? Check out the activity and adventure courses at Hawaiian Falls!
Not ready for the Shaka 5 zip line adrenaline rush just yet? Not to worry, Hawaiian Falls has three levels of adventurous Rope Courses with 45 different activities. For those that want to start slow, you can go through the 2-foot above the ground at “The Training Academy” and work your way up to the seasoned level at 26-feet high (yeah, I’m not that brave..). If you get to the top, you get to go on a 400-foot ‘mini’ zip-line starting at 60’ and flying down to 12’. Woah. The nice thing is, each level of the rope course offers “Challenge By Choice” activities that will entertain all ages and levels of courage.
If you want to spend some time out of the sun and gear up on some indoor fun and refreshments, you can stop by the brand new Aloha Event Center which is a 20,000 ft indoor event center complete with restaurant and an arcade. It’s really fun. We were able to get some nice refreshments and there were plenty of food and drink stands all around the park.
Big Island Family Adventure Trail
Free to Roam!
I’m mentioning this particular one of the many adventure trails at Hawaiian Falls because it was the only one our ENTIRE family could do. Yes, including little Brie. I was afraid with having Brie on the trip we wouldn’t get to do any adventure trails. Boy, was I wrong! The Family Adventure Trail is also a new favorite where kids of all ages will enjoy climbing over and under 18 bridges surrounded in rope nets. Features 18 rope bridges and tunnels on three levels. Family members who are at least 42-inches tall may participate solo, while guests under 42-inches must be accompanied by someone 17 years or older. Sure, we had to keep a watchful eye on the girls, but we each took a child and got through the trail together. It was a lot more fun than work (the kids could do most of the trail alone beside us) which is important for parents with little ones who want to get a nice workout but not have to spend the entire time chasing after the little ones. It’s the only 1 Shaka Meter trail at Hawaiian Falls.

Safety
Hawaiian Falls is built with the family in mind. Play with the kids in the Wave Pool, hang out in the Lazy River as they float by, or watch as they go down their favorite rides like the Pineapple Express. Lifeguards and EMTs are on site to ensure safety. The Lazy River was the only water ride we could all do together, but having both parents there and an older child, we took turns taking Brooke into the Wave Pool and a few of the smaller water rides. We all had a blast.
Check it out! I can’t recommend the Hawaiian Falls Adventure Park in Pflugerville enough. There are wonderful discounts, a lot of fun things to do for those of all ages and it’s the CLOSEST water park to Austin! We live in North Central Austin so it is literally just minutes away in the car. There is a lot of summer left and lots of special days and fun events on the online Park calendar on their website so keep up with special days there. Oh – Did I forget to mention kids two and under are FREE? Whooo hooo! The girls had a blast and so did Bob and I.
