Bilingual songs and a summer tour: Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band’s ‘Adelante’
Digital launch on June 30, 2015; physical CD release in August
Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band are on a roll! With a recent EMMY Award and three additional nominations, Lucky and his band is getting ready to release their seventh family music album. The band’s bilingual songs have struck a chord across America and they have been busy touring all across this nation all summer and into the fall. Their new album Adelante debuts on Amazon, iTunes and Apple music today while the physical CDs will be released by various distributors in August.
Adelante is a wonderful mixture of many different styles of music from surfer rock, hip hop and doo-wop with lovely Spanglish lyrics to keep the crowds entertained. The single “Piñata Attack!” (released on Cinco de Mayo) is a #1 hit on SiriusXM Satellite Radio and has been playing in top rotation on the Kids Place Live channel. If you are a fan of the song, get ready to enjoy the latest soon-to-be hits like “The Taco Song”, “Guacamole Boy” (featuring vocals by Genevieve Goings of Disney’s Choo Choo Soul and Jon Beavers of the Fresh Beat Band) and a new arrangement of the classic “Speedy Gonzalez”.
In its easy alternations between English and Spanish, the album is broadly educational (“ABC Adelante” and “Cantamos Seis”), but mostly, as Lucky Diaz notes,“These songs aim to communicate a feeling. We put the music first, and the lyrics followed. Everything is inspired by real-life events. And really, why not put guacamole on your pancakes?”
