It’s been many years since I’ve really gotten ready for anything ‘BACK TO SCHOOL’. I mean, technically my oldest has been doing preschool for a few years now in some form or fashion, but when your child starts KINDERGARTEN, it’s seem FOR REAL. Not only is my mind blown from the fact that I have a (recently turned) FIVE YEAR OLD, but I have an honest to goodness school-aged child. Say what? Where did the time go?
So, if you are new to this stuff like me, you are a little intimidated by all the ‘TO BUY’ lists, rules and regulations and pick off/drop off schedules and are trying hard not to hyperventilate. After all, this should be an exciting time for your child and you and it also means something else. You did it, Momma! You survived the pre-school years! Yes, pat yourself on the back. Not for too long, because you still have a long way to go, but you know, for at least a half a second give yourself a cheer!
As all the ‘back to school’ preparations begin to shock me back to a time that seems so long ago when I was preparing for it as a student, I knew I had to be prepared with a good marker. To MARK all my STUFF. I’ve learned from preschool that if your don’t name it, someone else may claim it; and it could be completely by accident. So, all the stuff you are allowed to mark (since certain schools do not want you to label certain supplies!) I have an awesome way to do it – with a product called Chalk Ink. And, yes, it just happens to be a local product here in Austin, Texas. Yee-haawww!
Chalk Ink is the original chalk ink marker that has been so popular in recent years. In case you haven’t used it before, it is an upgrade from ordinary chalk while working like a paint pen. There is no smearing or dust from the writing once it is dry and you can use it on any non-porous surface if you want to easily wipe it off with water or Windex. I think it is the perfect way to label back to school items for Brooke and I could see it working well for school projects to writing messages in a college dorm room for your roommates. I’ll continue to get everything ready for Brooke’s first official day and try not to pinch myself too much in disbelief.
