I’m happy and yet not-so-happy about my oldest daughter having to wear uniforms as she enters the Charter school system at the end of July. I’m happy because – Yeah! – I don’t have to pick out the coolest/latest styles or fashions or whatever it is these kids are into these days. There is literally almost no thinking about what to get her for school clothes for her entire primary education; I just need to be able to keep coming up with the money to purchase them. Me. Happy Dance.

Now, the downside.

My child is extremely petite which means (after getting a few skirts and pants) we realized that we have to custom hem everything to fit her small frame, so while all the kids’ school clothes in her class will LOOK alike, they will not be alike. What happens when kids change clothes for gym or if an extra pair of clothes is accidently left out of her school bag? I can see where clothing items can get confused or lost. Not our perfectly hemmed to our daughter’s body clothes! NOOOOO! So, what did I need to do? I need to personalize her items! As I’ve learned, using markers is not the way to go (color bleeding, markers not being exactly ‘permanent’, etc.), so I found the coolest and durable clothing labels that are small enough to fit all my daughter’s new school clothes. YES!
