I love to try new foods. My husband and I talk about moving back to Cincinnati, Ohio just to be near the Jungle Jim’s grocery store that has the most fantastic international market. Yes, it is that fantastic and we do love food that much! Apparently we are not the only person who feels that way and Christ Caldicott, owner of the World Food Café in London, decided to create a children’s book that shows the A-Z in international foods.
World Food Alphabet is a food photographers dream that features beautiful photographs of different dishes from around the world in alphabetical order. Caldicott, an acclaimed photographer, does an excellent job celebrating different foods, crops and even ways of eating from around the world. It is quite a stunning and delicious experience for the eyes. We loved reading all of the different facts about different cultures and their eating habits and there are a lot of important information packed into the book such as conservation and fair trade. The pictures were entertaining enough for our toddler and the words were engaging enough for our almost-Kindergartener and I loved it for all of the above. Perfect read for all families!
