WorryLess: The 1st and Only Cosmetic That Looks Like Real Skin.

Movie Magic In Your Medicine Cabinet to Erase Worry Lines

Do you have visible scars?  Things like medical, acne, C-section, etc. that you want to ERASE?  What about wrinkles and frown lines?  While I try to not focus on those things, I do realize I am getting older and that comes with both good (hey!  I’ve been there before!  It gets better!) and bad (where are these gray hairs and laugh lines coming from?  I mean, REALLY?)  While I tend to not care about the bad most days, there are times when I want to look and feel my best.  Interviews.  Important parties.  Class reunion?  Ha.  Nah.  But seriously, there was another big reason I wanted to test out WorryLess, which is a silicone cosmetic that you apply ON TOP of your face (AKA Botox without needles) to simulate skin was because of a good friend who has skin cancer.  Dermaflage (or WorryLess) is supposed to match to your skin’s tone and even cover up deep scars, cleft palates and marks from skin cancer removal.  That’s pretty cool.  Plus, it is supposed to last for 36 hours, while using make-up barely gets you through the day without updating application.

I know it bugs my friend who uses make-up to try and mask visible scars so why not see if this Dermaflage thing really works. While make-up just masks areas, Dermaflage actually fills in areas that are sunken in on the skin and can be used all over the body.  It is also water-proof so my momma friends with C-section scars that want to look scar-free on your vacation; this will work for you.  Because it is non-invasive and dermatologist tested, WorryLess is supposed to be non-irritating and easy to use in just a three step application.  Now, since I think I may have the most sensitive skin on the planet, I’m a great person to test out this ‘non-irritating’ theory.  Plus, I do have this annoying little scar above my lip (you probably wouldn’t notice it unless I point it out and then you wouldn’t stop seeing it…ugh) so I was excited to be a test dummy.

What does a Starter Kit Contain?  The WorryLess Starter Kits come in six shades of colored silicone: Fair, Golden, Rosy, Bronze, Tan and Dark.  I picked fair since I am very pale and each kit contains two different shade colors to ‘blend in’ with your skin tone.  Besides the two different color shades, each kit also has two applicators, primer with brush, mixing stick, application tool, spatula and texture pad.  It was starting to sound a little complicated, especially for someone who wears little make-up, but…..

Is it easy to apply?  Yes!  If you can brush on primer and foundation, than you can easily use WorryLess.  I felt a little like I was in some Hollywood make-up artist’s chair since you actually use something called a ‘Skin Texture Pad” to have the silicone blend in to your skin.  Weird?  Yes.  Did it cover up my scar?  Yes.

How to Apply in 3 Easy Steps

Step 1: Prime. Brush on Primer over the areas you wish to conceal. Let it dry for 30 seconds.

Step 2: Apply. Apply a small amount to the skin using the pointed precision application tool. With a spatula tool or a finger, blend the edges into the skin.

Step 3: Texture. Place Skin Texture Pad over the area. Press around the edges. Hold in place for about a minute.

What did I think?

Now, I will say it does cover up scars and frown lines, but it does take a little getting used to the feel of having silicone on your face.  Of course, I also felt the same way when I started wearing mascara at age 21, so I’m probably not the best person to say what feels normal for make-up wearers!  But, after a few days of trying this product it started to feel like part of my normal skin.  I still noticed it was there, but it didn’t really bug me.  I had also been concerned that I have such a fair complexion that it would be very noticeable if the color was off.  Luckily, for me, the ‘Fair’ shade worked perfectly and I honestly did not need to mix it with the included darker shade of ‘Light’.  I could see it being a little tricky but here is the color skin tone chart from their website to match to your perfect shade.  Since I do not have a very noticeable scar and my frown lines are pretty faint, I wouldn’t use WorryLess every day, but I like having the option of using it on occasion.  For those who want to use this product everyday and get the same ‘Botox-like’ results without injections, then I think getting a feel for the best way to apply and adding it to your morning routine would be a great way for you to feel better about your appearance.  After all, isn’t that what the cosmetic industry is all about?
